Active Lives for Older Adults

Older adults, individuals 60 and above, are a significant and growing segment of our communities. All adults benefit from engaging in Y activities as they enhance connections, decrease a sense of isolation, and improve overall well-being. Maintain your health and functional ability with programs designed especially for your needs. We begin to lose bone density, balance, and coordination as we age. The good news is that there is something we can do about it! Strength training and creating a fitness regimen can deter or prevent these issues from occurring. Our Senior Stretch and Flex class will teach you how to build muscle strength, endurance, and increase mobility. Every day activities will become easier, posture will improve, and you’ll look and feel great!

SILVER SNEAKERS

Silver Sneakers program is now available at the YMCA for those seniors who are eligible! Silver Sneakers is a program that provides opportunities to improve fitness, health, and well-being for older adults who are Medicare eligible.

Silver Sneakers Memberships:
Several Medicare supplemental insurance plans provide the added benefit of a Y membership. For the adults covered under these plans, their Y membership is free. As a Silver Sneaker member, you are entitled to all the same facility access and benefits of any other Y member. Check with your insurance carrier or bring your supplemental insurance card to the Y and the front desk can check on your eligibility.

RENEW ACTIVE
